About Us

Cimarron World-class wine grapes

Founded in 2002, Cimarron Vineyards is a family-owned operation on a 300 acre ranch. In addition to the currently producing 25 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Syrah and Zinfandel, an additional 40 acres of Cabernet is under development.

Through careful vineyard management and superb growing conditions, the vineyards are producing quality fruit, the older blocks already under contract with a renowned Napa Valley winery and the newer soon to be available to discriminating buyers.

The unique location, geography, and rich volcanic soil of the estate have resulted in the sought-after color, flavors and aromas found in our grapes. Our higher elevations result in drier air than the Valley, reducing the risk of mold and mildew. That, coupled with our exceptionally clean air and longer growing season result in rich, fruity wine grapes.

At 1300 to 1800 feet, Cimarron's varying hillside vineyard blocks offer subtle differences in soil composition, drainage and growing environments for nuanced, quality fruit.

Our Animals

Alpaca Herd

We have been raising alpacas since 1999.

It has been an exciting and rewarding project that we have undertaken together, and it has been a good experience for us to have adopted this richly rewarding lifestyle. We have invested countless days and hours, and have seen our herd grow from four to over eighty of the finest alpacas in Texas before we moved them to California.

Our alpacas provide us with so many things... a way to build equity and income... a daily rhythm on the ranch that centers us... and of course, the luxurious fiber that becomes the desire of local fiber artists..
